Box: 30 Housing Units

The new housing complex is located in the city centre of Thessaloniki, οn a narrow yet quiet street, full of small-scale industries and old buildings. The building’s façade is 17.50 m wide. The other sides of the construction are very close to neighboring buildings. The reconstruction of the building includes 30 residential units, a parking area on the basement, a gym on the mezzanine and an office space located on the ground floor. A completely free area at the backside of the building enhances ventilation and the presence of sunlight in the apartments. Each apartment has exterior spaces (balconies, terraces or courtyards), large openings and storage spaces.

The construction approach uses panels to separate the apartments and protect the façade. All different types of rooms, including small and standard rooms, have adequate light, enhancing the feeling of a natural atmosphere. Therefore, all windows are tall to maximize the presence of sunlight in the residence. Various plants are placed on the façade for the sense of green vibes. This approach pays great importance to detail and the proper use of materials. The project is a subtle blend that ultimately allows each element to find its own balance, which contributes to an abundance that enhances the composition and harmony of the building.
